Community Mental Health Services in Middlesbrough have undergone a major service redesign. The redesign ofservices was to ensure the delivery of a high quality service being accessible and equitable to all who need it.Mental Health Services for many years have been delivered by Community Mental Health Teams, which provided all things to all people. Such teams were not found to be the most effective way of delivering services. Therefore Community Mental Health Services were redesigned to specialise on functional problems.

The new service is made up of the Crisis Service, Affective Disorder Service, Psychosis Service and Rehabilitation and Recovery Service. All services work with people who have a dual diagnosis, which could include alcohol or drugs and also with people who have a diagnosis of personality disorder.
