After yesterday's events I made a decision to cut all ties - permanently - with my old life and family. I contacted my mobile phone provider and explained why I would like to be issued with a new mobile phone number - they were very understanding and within minutes I had my new phone number. They even waived the usual £10 fee. Well done Orange I love you!

I hadn't seen my godchildren for a while as I didn't know where I stood with their parents; they used to be such good friends but since I transitioned 12 months ago they had not made any effort to contact me and hadn't responded to any emails or texts I sent. I wrapped a DVD and a chocolate cake and wrote out a card for the two boys as follows:

I'm exhausted. Why? I have no idea as I haven't done a great deal. It's taking all my energy just to do simple things like housework at the moment. I have been feeling very lonely and my mental health has been quite poor but physically I have no excuse! I'm even religously taking my multi-vitamins and ensuring I get my 5-a-day.

The last twelve months has been hell insofar as my relationship with my ex and children are concerned. That has now degenerated into zero contact with anybody and no opportunity to co-parent our children. I have fought and fought for things to be different; it didn't have to be like this nor did it need to devolve into what it has become.

The next meeting of TeesTrans will be held on 14th September 2009 from 7pm 'til 9pm at the usual venue of St Mary's Centre, Middlesbrough, Tees Valley. Present will be a member(s) of the BME community, a representative from Cleveland Police, and a representative from Middlesbrough Mind. So please show your support by coming along!
