A TEESSIDE transgenderⁱ patient has revealed his frustration over NHS waiting times for chest surgery, which will enable him to realise a life-long dream of joining the Army as a man. Nicholas Darroch, 21, was born a little girl called Siobhan but suffers from gender dysphoriaⁱ, a condition where a person feels they are trapped within a body of the wrong sex.

I have been in terrible pain with what I thought was toothache all weekend. I saw my dentist today and he took an x-ray of my mouth. Everything tooth-wise was fine but I have a small infection in my jaw bone which is causing neuralgia to shoot down the nerves in my upper and lower jaw. Owies! And I do mean OWIES! Hopefully the week-long course of antibiotics will sort it out.

I was discharged from MATS today - yay for me - I have not been using alcohol as a coping strategy for 6 whole months! I am proud of myself for making such progress. Now I just need a drink to celebrate ....

Am I a suitable foster parent - No - why because nobody believes me when I say I am stable. When will they believe I am stable? How long? The answer - don't know. How do they decide? How do I prove it? The answer is - don't know. Can I re-apply? Yes. When? Don't know.
